Company History

Founded in 1975, TheDataFinders Group ® , Inc. was formed to provide an urgently needed recruiting service to the rapidly growing sales requirements of a then relatively new computer industry. Emerging technologies accounted for the need for hardware and software vendors to build their sales forces as rapidly as possible in order to grow and prosper--indeed to survive. "Experienced-only" sales candidates could be recruited if the chosen firm had a strong personal relationship with their candidates. That was a major strength of TheDataFinders Group ® , Inc. (DFG).

1979 - DFG pioneers the use of territorial/account assignments to insure that personal relationships are maintained on a territorial basis across the U.S.   This is unlike previous recruiting methods employed by firms, where an area was covered only if the client firm requested it.  The recruiting service would "move on" to the next assignment, returning only when required by another assignment. DFG's recruiters work their territories "permanently." Thus when a vendor required sales assistance in any given city nationwide, the assigned DFG recruiter already had long-term relationships established in the particular city.

1980 - DFG adds technical sales support searches to its client offerings.

1981 - DFG begins an aggressive expansion campaign to add a number of metropolitan areas to its candidate database. A new recruiter training program is established which is so unique in the industry that today, it is currently being used, in its exact form, by a number of DFG's direct competitors.

1985 - DFG completes its final territorial expansion nationwide, and insures its computer products vendor clients that it alone can respond to their nationwide sales and technical sales support needs, with recruiters that have established solid relationships in each particular territory with their candidates.

1990 - DFG starts up its first "end-user" recruiting group - Information Systems Division (ISD), catering to the recruiting needs of computer product users in the NY Metropolitan Area for Programmers, Systems Analysts, MIS Managers, Network Engineers, Help Desk, etc.

1992 - The DataCommunications Division (DCD) is formed to increase our penetration into the LAN/WAN marketplace.

1993 - Due to the ever increasing demand from our clients for "temporary" or "consulting" talent (which was a natural growth from both our ISD and DCD divisions), a separate corporation was formed - DFG Staffing Consultants, Inc. This combination of two corporations enables our companies to provide recruiting services to IT companies, be they a vendor or a user, and to provide them with qualified talent on either a "permanent" or "temporary" basis. Mix in a blend of our training programs, long-term personal relationships, territorial involvement and corporate philosophies, and the word unique in our industry appears as the appropriate descriptive.

2002 - DFG launches it’s Healthcare Division which directs its focus to sales and sales management positions within the Healthcare Community. Distributed into 3 main categories, DFG Healthcare specializes in locating, qualifying and attracting ‘Best Suited’ candidates in the 1-Pharmaceutical, 2-Medical Device and 3-Medical Technology (Software Automation) industries. With HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) pressuring healthcare providers to improve upon their practice automation and electronic billing capabilities, the entire healthcare industry is being forced into the electronic era through the means of new technology and applications which will not only meet HIPAA requirements, but enhance their ability to provide better healthcare to their patients. DFG Healthcare can assist with the procurement of talented sales professionals who understand how to transport the medical world into this new age.
